The Garrison F1 hybrid is characterized by high growth vigor and is suitable for mechanized harvesting. The ears are 19–21 cm long, 5–5.5 cm in diameter, and contain 16–18 rows of kernels.

The plant has high resistance to northern corn leaf blight (Bm, Et), common rust (Ps, Pst), and maize dwarf mosaic virus (MDMV).
