The maize hybrid "DN Argo" belongs to the medium-early maturity group (FAO 250). Plants reach a height of 220 cm; the grain type is dent. The hybrid is characterized by high resistance to drought, cold, and lodging, as well as immunity to a complex of diseases, including smut, rots, Helminthosporium blight, Fusarium, and Cephalosporium. Grain yield is more than 120 c/ha, and silage yield is more than 700 c/ha.
Grain for making popcorn is also sold under the trade name "Argo". It is characterized by a "butterfly" popping type and an expansion coefficient of 44–46. Unlike the "DN Argo" hybrid, this is a commercial name for a raw material, not a variety in the classic agronomic sense.
