The variety belongs to the silage category and has potential for biogas production. It is characterized by early wilting and shedding of lower leaves, which may be absent at the time of sampling.

The plant panicle is described as extremely large and loose, with possible drying and shedding of some branches during the ripening process. The variety possesses morphological similarity to the Mv MSC 485 hybrid, differing from it in the dynamics of dry matter accumulation in the lower leaves.

Bermasil has been used in phytopathological experiments, particularly in studies of resistance to maize mosaic virus.
