The Brasco hybrid is classified in open sources as a non-genetically modified maize variety. In field experiments conducted in Spain in 2003–2004, it was used exclusively for research purposes to study pollen transfer processes from GM crops to conventional crops.
Detailed agronomic characteristics of the hybrid, such as maturity group, plant height, or yield potential, are absent in open publications. In studies evaluating grain quality during processing, this hybrid demonstrated some of the lowest yield indicators under experimental conditions.
