The Brillant hybrid (sometimes designated as Brillant DK202) belongs to an early generation of European breeding forms. Its genetic base was formed by crossing flint and dent type lines, such as Lacaune and Minnesota 13.
The plant belongs to the FAO 230 maturity group and is characterized by an intermediate grain type. Currently, the hybrid is not a relevant commercial offering and is mentioned primarily in the historical context of the development of the silage sector in European agriculture.
