The hybrid was intended for grain and silage use. In field trial reports from the early 2000s, the relative maturity of the hybrid was indicated within 100 days according to the American classification systems of that period.
In a number of breeding studies, in particular in Moldova, DK507 was used as a donor of favorable genes in the development of new lines and early-maturing maize hybrids.
