K154 is a breeding material, not a commercial variety intended for mass cultivation. This inbred line has been used in experimental topcrosses to evaluate the genetic potential of other maize forms.

In scientific literature, the line is characterized by a "flint" grain type. Its positive effect on grain yield indicators when crossed with other forms is noted; however, data on morphological traits and disease resistance characteristic of commercial varieties are not provided for it.
