The maize hybrid Kosmo 230 belongs to the FAO 230 maturity group. The plant is characterized by a tall stalk with the ear positioned in the middle or mid-upper part. The ears are large in size, with 14–16 rows of grain containing 29–32 grains each.
In scientific literature, the variety is used as a model organism for laboratory research. Studies include seed germination energy, seedling reaction to herbicide exposure, growth processes under the influence of stress factors, and the quality of raw materials for fermentation. During long-term storage, the seeds are susceptible to infection by fungi of the genera Fusarium and Penicillium.
