Lixis was used in laboratory and field experiments to study mechanisms of aluminum toxicity in soil and plant root system adaptation. This hybrid is not represented in the modern commercial seed line.
According to archival data of forage crop trials, the variety belonged to the mid-late or mid-season maturity group. Plants were characterized as medium-tall or tall with good lodging resistance. When used for silage, the variety provided an average dry matter yield in ears and a high yield in stalks.
