The maize hybrid Mátra, sometimes designated as 86 Mátra, is the result of a breeding program at the Agricultural Institute in Martonvásár. In official classification, the variety has a maturity index of 470.
The breeding of this hybrid is aimed at adaptation to the climatic conditions of the Carpathian Basin with an emphasis on resistance to stress factors, stem strength, and general product quality characteristics. In some materials, the variety is mentioned in the context of its use for silage production.
