The ML9 line is breeding material for the creation of new hybrids through crossing. It is not a commercial variety and does not possess the characteristics of commercial maize, such as grain yield or lodging resistance under production conditions.
For scientific purposes, the ML9 line is used as a model object for studying plant regeneration in tissue culture, evaluating genetic resistance to stress factors, including heat, and for analyzing seed germination indices.
