MT Matado is a simple maize hybrid (Zea mays L.) of the medium-late maturity group (FAO 380). Plants reach a height of 220–240 cm with an ear placement height of 100–120 cm. The grain is of the dent type.
The hybrid possesses good stay-green properties and resistance to lodging. It is characterized by high tolerance to smut diseases and drought tolerance. It is plastic; the grain yield potential is 8–12 t/ha, and the ear forms up to 900 grains.
Intended for cultivation for grain, primarily in steppe and forest-steppe zones.
