As an independent commercial hybrid, NP 1940 is not presented, however, a description of characteristics is found for the hybrid form NP 1940 X NP 1927. This plant belongs to the early-maturing group with a vegetation period of 70 to 85 days. The stem height is 150–200 cm, the ears reach a length of 15–18 cm and a mass of 150–200 g, the grain is yellow, dent-shaped.
The hybrid is intended for food use, including boiling, canning, and freezing. The grain is characterized by a sweet taste.
