The Okato hybrid belongs to the mid-early maturity group (FAO 220–240) and forms flint-dent grain. The plant is characterized by tall growth (290–310 cm) and high ear placement. The thousand kernel weight ranges from 280 to 360 grams, and the starch content in the grain reaches 72.3%.
The hybrid is suitable for grain and silage cultivation. It exhibits high resistance to common smut and stalk rots, as well as to lodging. It possesses good cold tolerance, rapid development during initial growth stages, and high drought tolerance.
