The Ph2dym line is used in the creation of commercial corn hybrids and also serves as a model organism for testing genetic editing technologies. The plant reaches 1.52 meters in height, including the tassel.
Characteristic morphological traits of the line include high intensity of anthocyanin coloration on the tassels and silks. As specialized breeding material, the line is not intended for mass commercial cultivation.
