The line was developed by pedigree breeding from the cross of lines PHP38 and PHHB9. It is not a commercial variety for mass sowing, but a specialized genetic material ensuring stability and homozygosity in the production of first-generation seeds.
The plants are adapted for hybrids with a relative maturity of about 114 days. The line is characterized by high early growth vigor, good germination in cold tests, and the ability to retain green color. In hybrid combinations, PH2VK provides high yield, lodging resistance, and moderate resistance to gray leaf spot.
