The line belongs to the dent corn type and is used in breeding as genetic material for developing new lines. A morphological feature of this line is the drooping position of the ears.
PH4GP is known as a source of the gene for resistance to northern corn leaf blight. The Ht1 resistance allele has been identified in it, the use of which in breeding allows for the creation of varieties resistant to this disease.
