The line was obtained through pedigree selection by crossing lines PH06B and PHKW3 and is a source of Lancaster-type genetic material. It is adapted for cultivation in the central part of the Corn Belt and the western regions of the USA, characterized by resistance to ear mold, average early stand establishment, and good grain texture.
When used in hybrid combinations, the line contributes to hybrids with high yield, good stalk strength, and appropriate harvest moisture parameters. In breeding programs, hybrids based on it belong to the maturity group from 103 to 113 days. For scientific purposes, the line is used for developing plant transformation techniques using specific genes.
