The line is elite germplasm intended for professional breeding programs, rather than for mass commercial production. The origin of the line is based on parental forms PHG86 and PHW52.
The object is used primarily as a "tester" or component in the study of quantitative traits and plant adaptation to various environmental conditions. The line is being studied for resistance to pathogens, in particular to Gibberella ear rot caused by Fusarium spp.
