Reduno is a synthetic line carrying the B1 and Pl1 genetic alleles. It serves as a parental form for crossing with yellow maize varieties with the aim of creating new pigmented hybrids suitable for the food industry and adapted to temperate climate conditions.

The line is distinguished by a high content of antioxidants, in particular anthocyanins and phenolic compounds, and is used by scientists to study the biochemical composition of the grain. Literature mentions the use of this material for animal feed in the context of initial samples.
