The hybrid Szegedi SC 278, known under the commercial name Talbot, belongs to the early maturity group of maize. Morphologically, the plant forms medium-sized ears, and the grain has a characteristic dent shape (dentiformis) with a yellow apex.

During state variety trials in Slovakia in the period 1998–2000, the hybrid showed an average yield of 12.25 t/ha.
