The Tarro maize hybrid is distinguished by a genetically determined morphological feature: the presence of the highest number of grain rows per ear compared to a number of other studied samples.

The variety possesses a normal senescence type, which distinguishes it from stay-green group hybrids that retain green leaf color for longer. In scientific literature, it is used to study nutrient distribution and grain formation.
