The UH008 line belongs to the group of European flint maize lines. It is characterized by high cold tolerance during germination and in subsequent stages of vegetation, as well as intensive juvenile development during the initial growth period.

Features of this genetic material include slow grain moisture loss during ripening, as well as relatively low drought and heat tolerance. The line is used in breeding as a component for creating hybrids and for studying the genetics of adaptation to cold climates and flowering processes.
