The hybrid is a transgenic line that was primarily used in scientific research and commercial production during the late 1990s and early 2000s. The primary biological characteristic of the plant is the presence of the cry1Ab gene, which provides protection against specific pests.

Studies of the hybrid focused on analyzing the plant's chemical composition compared to its isogenic non-modified line Prelude. Specifically, differences in fatty acid profiles and lignin concentrations in stems and leaves were studied, as well as the impact of crop residues on soil microflora.
