The Zidane hybrid is of the flint-dent type and is classified as a variety intended for silage use. In scientific research, the variety was used to study resistance to leaf diseases, such as Phoma spp. and Setosphaeria turcica, as well as to evaluate the effect of drying temperature on the energy value of the grain.

This hybrid was entered into the variety register in 2007. Currently, the variety may be considered obsolete, and its commercial availability is limited or non-existent.
