The variety was obtained as a result of breeding work to adapt wild Zizania aquatica populations to the soil and climatic conditions of Hungary. Plants reach a height of 200–250 cm, and the panicle length is 20–25 cm. The thousand kernel weight varies from 25 to 30 g.
Cultivation of the crop requires a constant soil flooding level (20–30 cm) until harvest. Excessive sowing density and excessive nitrogen fertilization can lead to plant lodging, and high humidity in the plant stand promotes the development of fungal and bacterial diseases.
