A complex indicator of an oat variety's ability to produce biomass or grain yield, determined by panicle structure, photosynthetic potential, and genotype response to environmental conditions.

Oat productivity is evaluated through grain yield in t/ha or dt/ha at a standard moisture content of 14%, as well as through yield components: number of productive tillers per square meter, number of grains per panicle, grain weight per panicle, and 1000-grain weight. When the crop is used for forage, dry matter yield, yield of feed units, digestible protein, and metabolizable energy are taken into account.

In variety trials, productivity values are compared with a zoned standard to assess genotype performance. This indicator is closely linked to the variety type — hulled or hulless — as well as to photosynthetic potential and net assimilation rate of the crop stand. Under favorable conditions, grain yield can reach 8.0–8.9 t/ha.
