Cucumber productivity is a complex indicator of a variety or hybrid's capacity to produce a harvest, evaluated through marketable yield mass, average fruit weight, and fruiting intensity.

The assessment of cucumber productivity is based on calculating marketable yield in kg/m² or t/ha, as well as structural analysis of the number of fruits per plant and the proportion of marketable produce. In variety trials, the performance of hybrids can vary from 6.0–8.7 kg/m² for control samples to 13–17.9 kg/m² for high-yielding forms. The use of rootstocks, such as Cucurbita ficifolia, can increase total productivity by 15–23% by increasing the number of fruits.

Productivity is significantly influenced by the balance between vegetative and generative mass, as well as the timeliness of harvesting gherkins, since overgrowth of fruits inhibits the development of new ovaries. The level of realization of the cucumber's genetic potential depends directly on light conditions, temperature regime, and proper plant training, which prevents plant exhaustion and ovary shedding under excessive load.
