Beta vulgaris Fodder Beet Group
A fungal disease caused by the pathogen Ramularia beticola, affecting primarily mature leaves of fodder beet during the second half of the growing season.

The causative agent of the disease is the fungus Ramularia beticola, also known by the synonym Ramularia betae. The disease develops actively in moderately warm weather in the range of 15–20°C and high relative humidity of about 95%. Factors contributing to increased infection include crop density and sulfur deficiency in the soil.
Symptoms appear as light gray or light brown irregular spots 4 to 15 mm in diameter on older leaves. Unlike Cercospora leaf spot, there is no black dot in the center of the spots; instead, a whitish powdery coating of conidial sporulation is observed. Affected tissue areas often crack and fall out, leading to the formation of holes in the leaf blades.
