The plant forms delicate, deeply dissected leaves with a characteristic glaucous-bluish-green hue that persists throughout the season. The height of the bush is 45–90 cm with a width of 30–60 cm. In late spring and early summer, the plant blooms with small creamy-white flowers.
The fruits are large white berries with a black dot, located on bright purple pedicels. All parts of the plant, including fruits and roots, are poisonous to humans and pets. The plant is characterized by sturdy stems and resistance to slugs, deer, and rabbits.
