The variety is a large, fast-growing tree, reaching 20–25 meters in height, up to a maximum of 30 meters. The plant has a broad, wavy crown and a short, sturdy trunk.
The main characteristic of the cultivar is its near-complete resistance to damage by leaf miner larvae. A specific feature of its flowering is the change in the color of the macula on the flower from yellow to red.
