The strain was selected by the company Sylvan and is widely used in professional mushroom cultivation. It is regularly used in agronomic research to evaluate yield, disease resistance, and to study the chemical composition of the fruiting bodies.

The fruiting bodies have a shape standard for the species. The variety is an independent commercial product and is not identical to other strains, including those that have similar numerical indices in their names.
