The J10263 strain is classified as a BW-type hybrid, which means a cross between homokaryotic lines with white and brown cap color. It is intended for cultivation in industrial conditions and is used as a reference sample for the calibration of assessment methods for Agaricus bisporus varieties.

Morphologically, this strain is characterized by a low cap height, thin cap thickness in longitudinal section, and a thin veil.
