The plant forms a dense bush 30–38 cm in height. The green foliage has a characteristic licorice or anise scent. Tubular flowers of bright orange color are gathered in spike-like inflorescences; flowering continues from early summer until autumn.
The variety has high growth vigor and is resistant to lodging and animal damage. The plant is drought-tolerant after establishment, requires USDA hardiness zones 5–10, and needs good drainage, as it poorly tolerates excessive soil moisture during the winter period.
