Variety description

The variety is an ornamental form of onion with a sturdy, straight stem 90 to 120 cm in height. The plant's narrow, strap-like leaves usually wither before the start of flowering. The dense, spherical, wine-burgundy inflorescences are distinguished by the presence of a characteristic crest of small flowers at the top, which may open with a white hue.
The flowering period occurs in June–July, sometimes extending into August. The variety is winter-hardy and resistant to drought and pests, including deer and rabbits. The plant is used in landscape design for creating flower beds and borders, as well as in cut form for bouquets and dried flowers, while also serving as a good honey plant.
