The variety has an elongated bulb shape and is characterized by a taste intermediate between shallot and common bulb onion. It is used both raw for salads and cooked as a vegetable or seasoning.
Planting is carried out from March to May or from September to October, with harvesting taking place in August-September. The recommended planting scheme is 20–25 cm between rows and 15 cm between plants when grown in sunny areas with moderate watering.
