Variety description
10 August 2026
The name Garaloimre is not a generally recognized botanical term and appears in commercial catalogs as a trade name for a plant sold as Alocasia "Imperial Red". This name is also associated with a hybrid group derived from the crossing of Alocasia odora and Alocasia macrorrhizos.
A known hybrid of this type, "Novodora", exists in two forms: "Novodora Red" and "Novodora Green". Plants of this type are distinguished by high growth vigor, while all offspring of this hybrid are sterile. The plants are used for ornamental purposes as more hardy and large forms of Alocasia.
