The variety is a mutation selected from the original line of the species Alocasia zebrina. The main distinction of this variety from the base species and other cultivars is the absence of variegation and spotting on the petioles, which have a uniform black coloration.
The plant possesses large, dark green, arrowhead-shaped leaves with a pointed tip. The variety is intended exclusively for use as a decorative indoor plant and requires warm and humid conditions typical of tropical species.
