The variety is a sport characterized by a bushy, compact, and upright habit. The foliage is variegated: in spring, young leaves have a bright yellow or golden-yellow coloration with green margins, which later changes to cream-white with a dark green border.
The flowers are funnel-shaped, scarlet in color with a yellowish throat and small dark speckles. The flowering period lasts from late spring to early autumn. In temperate climates, the aerial part of the plant dies back for the winter and resumes growth in spring.
