Variety description

10 August 2026

The Tesronto variety, known by the trade name Indian Summer, belongs to the Summer Paradise series. The plant forms bushy shapes with tuberous rhizomes. In spring, the stems have a chocolate-burgundy shade; the foliage is dark green with a bronze or purple tinge. The bush height is 60–90 cm.

The funnel-shaped flowers are colored in three colors — red, orange, and yellow — and decorated with dark burgundy or brown streaks and specks. The flowering period lasts from June until autumn. The plant is perennial; its above-ground part dies off for the winter.

The variety possesses relative winter hardiness down to -15°C (zone 7a). In cold climates, covering or moving containers to frost-free rooms is required. The crop prefers fertile, moist, well-drained soils with a pH of 5.5–6.5 in locations protected from strong wind.
