The plant forms dense turfs of prostrate or ascending shoots. Leaves are small, with a silvery shade due to pubescence. Flowering is abundant, continues from April to May, in some years — until July.
The variety is winter-hardy and drought-tolerant, prefers sunny areas with light well-drained soil. Does not tolerate moisture stagnation. Used in landscape design for decorating alpine slides, rock gardens, retaining walls, borders and containers.
