Variety description

Perennial evergreen plant with a semi-prostrate growth habit. Height is 15–20 cm, width is 30–36 cm. Leaves are grey-green, lanceolate or oblanceolate. The bright yellow four-petaled flowers are gathered in inflorescences and are larger than those of the wild species.
Flowering occurs in early spring, the period is April–May. The plant has good winter hardiness for USDA zones 4–9, drought tolerance, and is not susceptible to being eaten by deer and rabbits. It is used as an ornamental plant for borders, rock gardens, and as a groundcover crop.
