The variety was obtained in the second generation from a sample of the Mandan variety. Fruits weighing about 1.5 g have a dark blue or purplish-black color with a glaucous bloom. The berries are juicy, sweet, and collected in clusters of 14–18 pieces. Flowering of the plant occurs in April–May, the ripening period falls in June–July.
The chemical composition of the berries includes about 8.2% sugars, 0.5% organic acids, 0.2% pectin, as well as 20.8 mg/100 g of ascorbic acid and 830.5 mg/100 g of phenolic compounds. The variety is characterized by frost resistance, light requirement, undemanding soil and moisture conditions, as well as resistance to major diseases and pests.
