The plant belongs to the species Anthurium andraeanum. Various naming variations are found in trade catalogs, including Princess Ariane, Ariane Red, Ariane Orange, and Princess Ariane Secret. General characteristics correspond to Anthuriums of this species: large heart-shaped leaves and spadix inflorescences surrounded by a glossy spathe.

Depending on the subvariety, the spathes have a saturated red or orange color. The height of the plant in pot cultivation is usually about 45–50 cm. The Princess Ariane Secret variety is distinguished by a pointed leaf tip and bright red flowers.

The plant is intended for indoor cultivation and is also popular as a cut flower product due to its ability to remain fresh in a vase for several weeks. The variety is sensitive to waterlogging and requires diffused lighting.
