The variety was obtained as a result of breeding Anthurium amnicola, Anthurium antioquiense, and Anthurium andraeanum species. The plant is characterized by high flowering intensity when grown in pots.

The variety shows relative heat tolerance; however, at temperatures above 30 °C, special conditions are required to maintain flowering quality and prevent fading of the inflorescences. Pink Aristocrat has also been used as genetic material in the study of resistance to bacterial blight.
