For Anthurium from the Anthurium scherzerianum group, the commercial name «Super Nova» is characterized by a red or dark red spathe 15–20 cm in diameter, a plant height of 40–50 cm, and elongated dark green leaves.

In amateur breeding, the designation «Supernova» is applied to proprietary hybrids obtained by crossing specific parental forms and is valued by collectors for the decorative properties of the leaves. In open sources, information on the registration of the name «Supernova» as a single industrial Anthurium variety is absent.
