The plant is a perennial legume crop with a tap, branched root and a short multi-headed rhizome. Stems are predominantly erect or ascending, reaching a height of 60 cm, covered with short hairs. Leaves are imparipinnate, elliptical, pubescent on the underside; flowers are gathered in head-shaped inflorescences of yellow or orange color.
The variety is light-demanding, tolerates dry and stony soils well, but is poorly adapted to intensive grazing. In comparative studies, the average plant height was about 368–389 mm, and the dry matter yield varied from 1.75 to 2.08 t/ha.
