The variety was created within the framework of a breeding program through the selection of more than 23,000 parental lines. The plant is intended for cultivation on an industrial scale as a source of the antimalarial agent artemisinin, which accumulates in glandular trichomes on the surface of flowers, buds, and leaves.
The artemisinin content in the plant tissues reaches 1.5%, and productivity is estimated at 36.3 kg/ha. Breeding work focused on ensuring the stability of these economic traits under field cultivation conditions.
