The E'LLADA variety was developed with the participation of Doctor of Agricultural Sciences V. I. Mashanov and is included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of the Russian Federation. The species Artemisia balchanorum is a perennial plant or subshrub, the stems of which are highly branched in the upper part.
The plant height is from 40 to 80 cm. Basal leaves are bipinnate or tripinnate, and the upper ones are linear. Flowering of balsamic wormwood occurs in July-August, fruiting in September. Propagation is possible by seeds and cuttings.
This variety is cultivated as an aromatic and essential oil plant. Studies of populations of the species in southern regions confirm the accumulation of such components as citral, linalool, and geraniol in the composition of essential oils.
