Variety description

The variety is an open-pollinated population selected from a Swedish sample. The plant forms a powerful root system with developed rhizomes. Hollow stems reach a height of up to 1.2 m and often have a prostrate growth habit. Leaves 10–20 cm long consist of 10–13 pairs of leaflets, and pale yellow or white flowers are gathered in raceme inflorescences.
The crop is well adapted to moist, irrigated, and subirrigated areas, as well as to alkaline and slightly acidic soils. It is distinguished by very high winter hardiness and resistance to diseases and pests. The protein content is 15–30%. Initial development is slow, stand establishment can take up to two years, and seeds require scarification due to a high proportion of hard seeds.
